My name is Krzysztof Mathews. I am the creator of First Gear Territories® and all of its artwork, stories, sculptures and images .

I have been drawing and sculpting from a very early age. To this day, the physical aspects of artmaking are a crucial part of my creative process.

I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1995 with a BFA in Illustration, and then from UW Madison with an MFA in 2000. It was during my time in Madison, Wisconsin that I was properly introduced to computer graphics as a working media.

I am currently an art and design instructor, and an active member of the Art League of Rhode Island, where I currently serve as Co-Chair of Communications and Chair of Artist Selections.
